Heidi Nguyen was born in Paris from a Vietnamese Dad and a Swiss mother. She studied at the National School of Applied Arts (ENSAAMA) and Academie Julian Atelier (Met de Penninghen) in Paris.
She then worked as a Graphic Designer and Artistic Director for 10 years before moving to Ireland, back to her passion: painting and drawing.
Painting her way from Dublin to the County of Donegal, she set up her studio and has been practising since.
For the last 10 years she has also been working with the techniques of printmaking following the meeting with an extraordinary workshop located behind Mount Errigal.
Beside her trade as a painter she participated in the foundation of an artist run Gallery/studios Art centre for 3 years.
Through residencies, her work in situ brought her to travel in Germany, Georgia, Portugal, and France. Up until now her work has been exhibited mainly in Ireland although collected internationally.
She has been awarded grants from the Art Council, Donegal county council, Culture Ireland, and EACEA (through the organisation of Clò Ceardleann).
